New Facilities Planning Seminar Scheduled for March 2013 in Orlando, Florida

For more than a decade The Center for Public Safety, Inc. in association with Architects Design Group has been hosting a bi-annual seminar titled; “Planning, Funding and Obtaining New Public Safety Facilities”.

This seminar is designed to help a governmental entity planning a new or renovated facility within the next few years to become more educated about the steps of the process from the identification of the need until the ribbon cutting to open the new facility.

Topics include involving staff, the RFP/RFQ process, selecting the design team, the stages of the project, project funding options, grants, construction delivery methods, emerging trends and security concerns among others.

This seminar is unique in that it is only available to current public sector employees or elected officials. To date more than 400 cities, towns, parishes, counties and public entities have sent at least one person to participate in this seminar.

The next opportunity to attend is March 7th and 8th in Orlando, Florida. In addition to the day and a half seminar, participants will have an opportunity to take a facility tour of a police department, fire station or emergency operations center. Lunch is provided the first day and that evening participants and their spouses can attend a catered reception where they can meet and interact with their peers and the seminar presenters.

Upcoming Facilities Planning Seminar

Architects Design Group in conjunction with The Center for Public Safety, Inc. (CPS) will be hosting their semi-annual Facilities Planning Seminar in San Diego on Thursday, September 27, 2012 just before the start of the yearly International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference (IACP).

The seminar is designed to bring together those officials in first responder roles such as police and fire chiefs, emergency operations center and communications directors, city and county managers as well as elected officials. Now in its twelfth year, the seminar has hosted more than 400 attendees from over 500 agencies from Alaska to Maine to the Cayman Islands and Southern California.

This is an in-depth one-day educational opportunity for those communities interested in the renovation of existing facilities or new law enforcement, fire safety and communications facilities. The seminar is designed to provide key officials with knowledge about planning, funding, designing and constructing these critical structures. Public Safety Facilities Planning Seminar

Twice a year Architects Design Group joins The Center for Public Safety, Inc. to host its seminar, “Planning, Funding, and Obtaining New Public Safety, Police, Fire Rescue, Communications and Emergency Operations Centers.”

The next seminar is Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25 at the Embassy Suites North in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The two day event includes speakers on a variety of topics including space planning, funding options, construction delivery methods, and building political and community support. Attendees will also attend tours of specialized facilities and received educational materials which can only be obtained at the seminar.

This seminar is a must for any police or fire chief, sheriff, EOC or 911 dispatch directors, elected official or other public sector employee who is contemplating a new or renovated facility within the next 2-5 years.

The information and materials presented will provide “must have” information and a step-by-step plan to assist your department, agency or community in its quest for a new facility.

The seminar is now in its 11th year and has been attended by more than 500 public sector employees from across the United States and the Caribbean basin.
